I should have purchased Rosetta Stone earlier...

The McKonly sisters are all avoiding packing for their trip to Paris to visit Jessica as she ends her semester in Rennes. We leave Wednesday, May 20 and return Wednesday, May 27. Hopefully, one of my more technologically advanced sisters will keep you posted by uploading pictures and whimsical anecdotes from the trip. (Can you tell Erin helped me with this? he he.) Hope you enjoy the blog and we're looking forward to reading comments (especially you, Deb).

  1. It's a program that helps one learn languages. We use it with ESL kids in my school district, too.

  2. OK, I'll give you a break, since I know you're traveling today. I'm sitting in my office, about to start Round Two for the day ... working on my second major proposal ... both go out the door before the weekend. Poor me ... except that I did take off Sun afternoon for some fly fishing, so I can't whine nearly as much as I would like.

Didn't land the big one this time, but caught a few smaller trout. In fact, it reminds me of my favorite line from a French person.

When I was hitch-hiking many years ago, on my way to Paris from Grenoble, my friend and I caught a ride with a couple of french hippies in a van. The guy had hair down to his waist, his girlfriend had a diamond stud in her nose. They gave us a lift from Lyons all the way to Paris for Easter weekend, bought us lunch when we stopped, and had a kitten in the back of the van too. They fondly remembered their favorite English school lesson phrase:

    Feesh is ma favoreeet deesh.

    Mine too.

Using the Rosetta Stone translation, I believe we would have the following:

    Fish is my favorite dish.

Drink lots of wonderful wines and tell lots of good stories, even if you make them up!

    A bientot, Deb

  3. Kathy won't have to worry about remembering France when she is 80, she won't remember it next year if there are no pictures. Hope your arm is okay, I am sorry I missed that!
